Hao Weichen began donating blood when he served in the military and has been dedicated to the cause ever since. While most donors in his area receive payment for donations, Mr. Hao joined a movement to donate without compensation, and motivated others to do the same. “I (donate) neither for fame nor for money," Hao says. "As a responsible man, I just want to save more lives…(and let those in need) know how warm and big their family is.” Mr. Hao continues to volunteer for the blood center and has been awarded its four-star volunteer recognition.
