A significant advance in platelet transfusion

InterSol™ Solution

InterSol is a platelet additive solution (PAS). It replaces 65% of plasma in a platelet component, allowing the volume of plasma transfused to be decreased.

Platelet dose and total fluid volume are unchanged with InterSol solution use.

Platelets are transfused with 65% less plasma
Platelets stored in InterSol solution are associated with less patient reactions
Platelets stored in InterSol solution are linked with decreased titers of Anti-A and Anti-B

Fewer transfusion reactions were seen with InterSol platelets.
